What is enLIGHTen?

enLIGHTen is a celebration and a thank you to the community! Enjoy a live concert by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra with custom-designed lights projected onto the Richardson Towers. Resident Conductor Stefan Sanders will conduct the BPO.

When is enLIGHTen?

Friday, July 28th at 9pm! Our rain date will be Sunday, July 30th, also at 9pm.

Where is enLIGHTen?

You can enjoy the show from the renewed South Lawn of the historic Richardson Olmsted Campus located at 444 Forest Avenue.


Where is the South Lawn?

The renewed South Lawn of the Richardson Olmsted Campus is located just south of the iconic Towers Buildings at 444 Forest Avenue. Pedestrian access will be available from Forest Avenue. Click here to view map of the event.

Do I need tickets?

Nope — enLIGHTen is free and open to the public!

Is there assigned seating?

Join us for a open-air concert on the lawn — bring your own blanket or lawn chairs and pick your favorite spot.


Where can I park?

Parking for enLIGHTen is available at Buffalo State College in any lot. Click here to view an enLIGHTen parking map [PDF will open in a new window]. Disabled parking is available by turning off Elmwood at the light between Rockwell and Forest Avenue. From there, follow directions from the parking attendants.

Where’s the best view?

The light show will be projected onto the south and west side of the Towers Building. Pick a spot where you can see both sides for the best view of the show.

Will there be restrooms available?

Yes, there will be portable toilets available on the western side of the lawn for all attendees.

Who’s putting this on?

The Richardson Olmsted Campus and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra are co-hosting this unique event, with help from our neighbors and partners like Buffalo Place, the Burchfield Penney Art Center, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo State College, Hotel Henry, the Buffalo Psychiatric Center, and U.S. Security.

Not Permitted inside the event area:

  • Alcohol
  • Illegal Drugs/Drug Paraphernalia
  • Animals (except service animals)
  • Drones
  • Grills/open flame
  • Bicycles *
  • Weapons
  • Fireworks
  • Air Horns
  • Items Deemed Dangerous

* Attendees are encouraged to bike to enLIGHTen, but all will have to lock bikes up outside the event area before entering. The fencing along Forest Avenue will be available for bike locking purposes. There will also be limited bike racks available on the North (Buffalo State) side of the campus.
